Assuming the much-hated Offer-Sheet won't be deployed by a team, like my beloved Flyers, I'd try and trade for him. Obviously I have a massive bias being the Flyers and trying to find that quintessential top D-man, so I'd offer something like this:
To St. Louis: Brayden Schenn, Nick Cousins, Braydon Coburn, and a 1st round in 2014, and a 2nd in 2015
To Philadelphia: Alex Pietrangelo |

Word is that he told his agent any offer sheets would have to be 7 years and have an aav over 7 per or he wasn't interested.
Tough for St. Louis to fit that in.... |

Makes sense, trying to cash-in now rather than later. I think the offer above is adequate, who knows how St. Louis would react? |

They can afford it. cap wise. Depends if their owners are willing to spend. |

Not sure, but just to be on the safe side, they should send him to the Oilers in exchange for N. Schultz and Omark. The Blues can add a few draft picks to even it up a little. - laughs2907

a Bold move coming? |

If I was a team with cap space I would offer sheet him. Maybe 7 years 56 million. Not sure if st Louis matches or not |

I pray Holmgren has an ace up his sleeve... Your thoughts on my hypothetical trade proposal above? If you were GM in St. Louis, what's your reaction? |

Also tough for the team giving the offer sheet to give St. Louis four 1st round picks as compensation... |

Yeah, can't see them NOT signing him, unless a trade brings St. Louis an awesome return. |

They'll match any offer sheet. Unless Tampa offers Brewer up for him, because who needs a franchise d-man when you could have Brewer. |

It is an aggressive package, if St Louis is in a position that they can not afford to sign him and have tried every thing they possibly can as a franchise, I think its a pretty fair offer for him. They might want one of your top d prospects instead of cousins though. |

lol! Yeah, I think he is the Weber of this summer, and St. Louis will do virtually everything to match any offer. The only way I can see St. Louis not matching is if the deal reached into the $8+ million zone, and long-term. |

Yeah, good call. I just wanted to throw something out there that wouldn't be considered a low-blow, just something to get hypothetical talks going lol. Realistically, he's 99.99999% a Blue for the foreseeable future. |
